A Home Fire Safety Assessment (HFSA) is a free visit to your home from the Fire and Rescue Service. During their visit, they will provide fire safety advice and equipment, depending on the risk present.
If you are concerned that your physical or mental health, home environment or daily activities might increase your fire risk or reduce your chances of escape, you may be eligible for a HFSA.
The easy to follow online home fire safety check form has been developed by the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) and the Fire Kills and Safelincs team. The form will take you through your home one room at a time, asking you simple questions to help spot potential fire risks as you go around your home. The tool will offer tips and advice on the steps you can take to reduce fire risks.
Depending on your level of risk, you may receive advice on how to reduce your risk or a home visit. Advice given is purely a guideline, authoritative recommendations can only be made through a home visit.
